The last few weeks have been ripe with policy changes, updates, and announcements from Amazon. Between massive catalog enforcement deadlines hitting in just a few days and the official roadmap dropping for Q4 holiday fulfillment, sellers need to lock in!
First and foremost, starting this Sunday, July 27th, Amazon is capping product titles at 75 characters. If you don't update your product titles, Amazon’s AI will.
Looking just around the corner to peak season, Amazon has officially announced its 2026 Q4 holiday fulfillment rates starting October 15th, complete with an added 3.5% fuel surcharge and strict inbound deadlines for Prime Big Deal Days and Cyber Week. To help you navigate these shifting costs, we're diving deep into why static 30-day forecasting models fail, and how pairing real sales velocity with a responsive 3PL buffer keeps you in stock without bleeding margin in storage surcharges.
Check your titles, model your Q4 margins, and dive into the full issue below to protect your bottom line.
Amazon Announces 2026 Holiday Fulfillment Fees
The clock is officially ticking for holiday inventory prep!
Peak FBA fulfillment fees are in effect from October 15, 2026, through January 14, 2027, adding an average of $0.32 per unit on top of Amazon's existing 3.5% fuel surcharge. Remember: fees trigger when the order ships, so late October orders will carry peak pricing.
To guarantee Black Friday and Cyber Monday Prime badges, Amazon is urging sellers to front-load inventory:
September 16: Inbound deadline for Prime Big Deal Days.
October 28: Final inbound deadline for Black Friday / Cyber Monday.
Amazon FC receiving slows dramatically in November as Amazon pivots to customer delivery. Model your Q4 margins against the higher fee stack now and lock in your inbound shipments early to dodge receiving bottlenecks.
If you haven't audited your catalog yet, stop what you're doing. Starting July 27th, Amazon is officially capping all non-media product titles at 75 characters max, aiming to optimize the shopping experience for mobile shoppers. Additional product details and materials must be moved to the new “Item Highlights” field.
If your titles are still over 75 characters after July 27th, Amazon’s AI will step in and rewrite them for you.
Sellers are already reporting major glitches with the auto-generated suggestions, including stripped keywords, removed size/color details, and broken attribute errors.

Forecasting on Amazon is a dynamic operational strategy where missing the mark means either bleeding cash in FBA storage fees or surrendering organic rank to competitors during stockouts.
Accurate demand planning requires balancing several interconnected variables beyond basic historical sales velocity, including lead time variability, seasonality and deal spikes, and organic rank and ad velocity.
Relying strictly on Amazon’s default replenishment suggestions or static 30-day trailing averages sets brands up for failure. Learn how to maintain peak inventory turnover and protect margins, pair granular historical sales trends with a reliable 3PL prep strategy.
